I earned nothing with Proxies. Zero clicks in three weeks. No more proxies for me in the future.

Can you tell us more about your proxies?? Looks like you need to change ad placements etc, maybe use a differant theme etc. I am running a few proxies and they get plenty of clicks and earn me a $ or two daily.:D

    I tried various themes.

I submitted my proxy to a lot of proxy lists but no clicks. I used Bidvertiser and it was on an INFO domain. I had one advantage, the hosting cost was not that high.

I don't really see a need in registered a .com proxy domain considering within three weeks the proxy will be blocked by most filters at schools/work places. Your best bet is to register a .info,.co.cc, .tk - At least you won't be wasting too much money on a domain.

I had used zelune for my first proxy, but after I changed to glype.

What about your proxy sites CTR? I have about 0.6% is it bad for proxy? Any tips? (sites in signature)

For user point of view best proxy script is cgi. for admin point of view it is glype... it is light for the server. minimum resource usage plus noob friendly. I have a few of my own on glype but when I need to do nasty stuff I use other people's cgi proxies. Will host my own cgis when I get a dedicated server some day. Anybody tell me what are the positives of zelune over glype??

It can be easily done using theme configuration file (Config.php). Just paste the ad code in the "proxified below form" area in the config.php file.

Oh come on. This thread will not die as long as proxies are being made or it is closed.

Good to have you back here.

You can do this in your htaccess file to give a 403 forbidden based on their referer:
    Multiple Sites:

You could also block their IP address / IP ranges / domain in your server firewall or .htaccess :

Dynamic drive have an online htaccess tool here to make things easier.
    tools.dynamicdrive.com/userban/
    Code (markup):
    Best collection of htaccess examples;
    perishablepress.com/press/2006/01/10/stupid-htaccess-tricks/
    Code (markup):
There's a lot more you can do to keep unwanted traffic off your site. Other effective security solutions you can implement are scripts like Bad Behavior, MM Autoban, ZB Block, Project Honeypots HTTP:BL etc.

With a few modifications here and there, these security scripts can also help to protect proxies from things like spammers, hackers, scrapers and those proxy hijackers who want to steal/copy your site.

This type of protection also works against the web filtering companies like websense and all the phishing tracker sites who target proxies and get them shut down without any verification like Phishtank etc.
