Any decent niche website will do better than the average proxy. The initial investment and effort (Unless you outsource everything) would be higher though. There's also the additional advantage of being able to flip, sell links, use affiliate programs etc, which is not normally possible/profitable in the case of proxies.

Techentrance offered the best proxy hosting in the two years that I have run my proxies. I have tried many others as well as my 200GB limit with TE was hit, but other proxy hosting providers cost me a lot of money with their frequent downtime.

 

Correct. But they're much more costly too

A few months ago, I'd buy with TechEntrance for their quality and because proxies paid off. Now I'd rather go with a cheaper host like O2ProxyHost and put premium proxies on TechEntrance

Alright, what does everyone use for proxy hosting? I'm with fusedhosting, and the downtime is getting to be absolutely ridiculous. I know you get what you pay for, but I'm paying more per month than I earn in Adsense for ALL of my sites, not just the proxy sites hosted by fusedhosting. I'm not looking for PMs about $1 for a year of proxy hosting, because we all know how that works... Does anyone know of a RELIABLE proxy host? This is the 5th host I've been with, and I'm getting really tired of switching over and over again... It'd be awesome to just stick with a host.

Ugh cpalead with proxies suck unless you offer something unique that no other proxy does, unless you do this people will just close your website and goto another proxy.

 

Could work, but that's just too much to ask your visitors. Most of them will be turned away. However, what you can do is show the gateway after every N'th visit so for example visitors browsing their social bookmarking site like Facebook or Myspace through your site will be already halfway through their browsing and they will most likely feel the need to continue the surfing instead of closing the browser and look for another working proxy.

Another thing is if your proxy supports YouTube video streaming, you can blocks this part with CPALEAD, because it's considered valuable content.
