    In the past I opted for a dedicated, I had about 100 proxies then.....but started with other things so sold them off. Have tried just a few here and there on shared. I will check out wdservers as I have heard of them before :)

    I appreciate the advice thus far, still looking for a new host, preferably managed VPS hosting. Currently paying $30 a month and getting 500 gb, but the downtime is awful... My sites have been down since last week, and the host isn't answering my emails. Any advice would be much appreciated. I sent a few PMs and am waiting for responses.

    I'm surprised there aren't more people with proxy hosting recommendations. Maybe I'm the only one who only has a handful of proxy sites and can't justify paying for a server?

    Why don't you go to webhostingtalk and look for a cheap VPS??
    You should get one for as low as 4 to 5 $.
    No need for a dedicated server if that's what you are talking about.

    How much bandwidth do you use per month? I'd recommend that you buy a shared proxy hosting package from techentrance (W/coupon TEWD) or from o2proxyhost.

    Servint.net w/coupon (http://www.retailmenot.com/view/servint.net) (Only valid for 1st month) is a good option for a cheap VPS (25$ for 1st month if you choose the smallest package). Note that they have a minimum time period clause (2 months or such I think). So you can't just enjoy cheap VPS for one full month and cancel.

    You can also try wdservers.com

    Because I've been through a lot of proxy hosts and had bad experiences with all of them - I want to go with a host that other people on here have used and can recommend.

    I ever chat with servint.net, and they don't allow open proxy for vps. But you can use their Dedicated Server for web proxy.

    HawkHost vps, they allow web proxy.. cheap and use litespeed ($55.xx included cpanel and litespeed, Ram 1 Gb, HD 40gb and BW 450 Gb).
