Building a Antique Bookstore

Discussion in 'eCommerce' started by aravindk, Mar 7, 2010.

    Hello,

I would like to build a bookstore selling Antique books. I am looking for recommendations on what is good script out there. Below are the few that I am looking into:

    a) Zen cart. I am fairly familiar with Zen cart.
    b) Wordpress with a shopping cart plugin
    c) Joomla

I am not keen in paying some $$$ every month to keep the store running (amazon, ebay etc). I am looking for a simple shopping cart solution where I can host on my own website, that i am able to customize it for books.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.

    Thank you!
    Arvind.

Magento if you want something really top notch but it has a bit of a learning curve it has so many marketing features. Prestashop is also really nice, easy to use and for folks to desgin. It is also much more lightweight.

    hope that helps,
    Nigel

PrestaShop is more simple, but a quick alternative to magento. I think it's a better..

You can use Magento 1.4 for your book store. It may take few time to learn but you'll get outstanding built-in features.
