    Hey guys.
For some time I am thinking to create an Anime site(Site wth Japan Cartoons). I have few good ideas how to get indexed faster and have original content and information for Anime lovers. So I have an Idea, but is it worth it? Can anime site make money after all? I mean there are a lot of kids who loves this stuff and they are willing to click on adsence links, but how much this site could actually earn? 100$ per month? 1000$?
I also saw few guys selling anime sites that doesn't have much a good trafic for 400$...
Please write information from your personal expirence.

I tried several time to run such a site and never get success as for this you need alot of marketing and once you are known to people then you can start getting high traffic which converts into money.

The limit and potential are in your hands. If you have the time, money, and knowledge to invest into the project it could become what you want it to become. An issue you may come across is copywrite. Be sure the information and content obeys all the laws. Many "Free Episode" websites do not stay out there long.

There are plenty of players already. How different with your Anime site between you and some popular one like Onemanga.com? I saw many sites were trying to be like Onemanga and ended quickly since they are just a plain of Onemanga copycat. Onemanga is best because they have their own team / fanclub whom are the translator in the same time, plus they do update very quick.

How can you come over them?

Sorry Sxperm but I can't tell my ideas, there a lot of web master that can easily copy them. My plan are directed to commutiny establishment, and I will be able to offer something that onemanga can't.

Then give it a shot. All you have to lose is time and money.

    Try thinking differently
Maybe the members can submit their own mangas?
So your site is not only providing well-known manga like Naruto, etc..
Like youtube, you can upload their own videos.

And another question is how much bandwidth it would require? If I have lets say 2000 videos linking to megaupload or myspace and 2000 visitor per week.

That is a pretty saturated market its going to be difficult to gain traction and ranking. It will take a lot of effort, you might be better off in a less saturated niche.

Were you planning on coding the whole site from scratch? Or just making "yet another Wordpress driven online anime watching/manga reading website... with Chatango shoutbox"?

The trick would be to try offering your own content at some point and not just links to the videos. Reviews and maybe gathering other content related to the anime series like fan art , fan fiction etc.

sites that make people come back time and time again will be what makes the cash, to get that you'll need a large amount of traffic.

But if you think you can offer something different to the rest of the anime sites then its worth a shot:).

i'm confused, do you want to make an anime site that offers manga as well and use third party storage like megaupload for contents?
if so, then not much bandwidth is needed as you'll be using megaupload's bandwidth

regardless, good luck to your project

Like people mentioned, there's already big players in the anime sites market so taking them head on might not be a good idea. Try finding a niche manga/show that's not exploited properly and market it to its fans.

Since you only linking the movie not hosting.
Around 88GB bandwidth monthly will be more than sufficient.

i think 88GB is too much i think the highest use of bandwidth would be 40 to 50 GB

Well if you provide them with videos and all ( kind off illegal ) might work . But without it and only content i think its hard as i am already having a similar site . you can my siggy for it . But you never know you might have some methods by which u can earn better .
