My website is still in the sandbox. A SEO'er told me to buy a few links and to add more content. That's what I've done, and now I'm just waiting for my website to rise up again...

I always believe, content is King, if you really have great content and quality links you will soon be out of the sandbox. As regards, escaping the sandbox, I don't think it is possible.

You need to build your backlinks regularly. It looks more naturally if you add e. g. 5 links every day than if you build 100 links in a single day and then nothing for a month.

    Thanks

does the sandbox include de-indexing links? I did some article marketing not to long ago and noticed that my links got removed. Wasn't to thrilled about that.

Go to Google and type in site:yoursite.com, if more than one page appears then you are fine. On the other hand if there is only one page, most likely your index page then you have been sandboxed. If they are no pages there then you have been banned from the search engine.

Kaiseng: If your refering to the site "steal our ideas", it looks fine. I wouldn't bother putting up those text links for sale to the public tho. You might lose all that PR you have been building up

Well several search engine optimizing companies have been studying data and they understood that new websites are taking some time to get indexed; this has been the subject of much debate with some claiming to have even observed a 'reverse sandbox' effect - that is some websites with good content are getting indexed soon and even had their rank go higher. Google's Matt Cutts, in an interview with a website, said that there are some things in Google's algorithm that can viewed as sandbox but that it doesn't apply to all industries. Other analysts have said that while Google doesn't explicitly have a sandbox, the sandbox effect is real.
