mySpace Warning: Don't get friends too fast!!!!

By friend/profile ID. Each "block" is on a different server, it's not exactly known how many accounts are on each server but it can give you a general idea. Seems like each server has a slightly different policy. My guess, they have one hell of a mess over at their datacenter. Looks like, they are more busy trying to keeping up with demand than with building a unified control mechanism.

 

Hmmmm, I have two accounts that are fairly old (one 365000, other 2.1 million). Another is 36 million. I'm gonna have to test things out on those.

 

How would I get server info from for example, these, slightly changed, numbers?

Blah...about the last test that 'locked out' after just a few requests...

So I just tried 10 requests on that account...and they went through!!!!!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! Don't they know they are messing with my tests!!!!!!!!!!! I wanna get these tests done so I can get a ton of friends and *confession alert* spam'em with bulletins!!!!!

 

Ya, you are full of good intentions and they can't keep their system in order. You should send them a mail. Don't let them get away that easy!

 

They can't even keep the site working, let alone get rid of da SPAM!!!

Yes, mySpace going down explains why it locked out way before hiting 425 requests!!!! I just did 390 requests on that account...and they went through. So I think, when it stops going through like that, the requests you make that don't go through from them being down like that don't count, so you can make them again when it's working again, since it was just 12 hours ago that I tried doing it the first time.

That would explain why some people have problems with adding friends/making comments/uploading photos while others aren't affected. It seems like Myspace is held together with chewing gum and string!
