I will do social Bookmarking.. But is there any other thing.. because there is not much seo to be done.. Most of the profiles may be kept private!

You can create a facebook fanpage linking to your website. Suggest it to all of your friends, who will in turn suggest it to their friends and so forth. You can also buy space for a link on people's tweets or facebook fanpages.

I really don't understand why so many people claim that "social bookmarking" will bring you lots of traffic. I've been posting my site to social bookmarking sites for years, and these sites have never sent me very much traffic. One of my sites gets about 2,000 visitors/day. I wonder if even one person a day bookmarks my site, even though there is a "add this" social bookmarking link on the index page.

So where do all my members come from? SEO - keywords that are relevant to my social networking site. This is where my visitors come from. I really don't understand all this "social bookmarking" stuff. Maybe if you are posting the cure for cancer, there is a chance to go viral. But a chat, dating or social networking site doesn't have much chance on going viral through social bookmarking. I don't know....I could be wrong.

My site statistics show that I get most of my traffic from Digg.com and killersites.com. Try starting there and also use Facebook, Twitter, and Stumbleupon. Also, create a commercial or get a professionally made one and on put it on Youtube. Link, link, and keep linking in the viral network. :)

try setting up a page on other social bookmarking sites driving traffic to that and then they will be lead onto your site which is easy free traffic

Is it the site in your sig OP? Because that's gonna be a bit difficult to market, it's just a straight social networking site so it doesn't really provide a ton of benefit from a user's standpoint. It's just 1 more site to remember login details for

Actually there is a lot of things you can do like participate in most of the webmaster forums, make some squidoo pages. You can also create a fan page on facebook or start a group about new social networking sites, so by that way you could also get in touch with the ones who have similar sites like you.

Have a unique feature that really stands out from the rest of the social networks and market around that.

Identify your target audience, Get a beta group to help you seed your site – even if it’s just your friends and family, Then notify influential blogs like techcrunch.com, mashable.com, and killerstartups.com, If you have the budget, contact the large sites and forums in your demographic that sell ad space and buy a few ads (federatedmedia.com could be a good source), Don’t forget SEO :)

try a little Facebook Ads. They are running pretty cheap still, compared to PPC. Not to mention your target market would be using a social network to view your ads. Good fit!
