so my host doesnt like my site atm (using 50gig of bandwith a month), so im looking for new host for my podcast site,

www.mtgcast.com we are in the middle of a revamp, we have about 9 podcasts (8 different and one mega feed).

im looking for a host that can put up with our bandwidth needs, we also need the usually stuff like php 4 or 5 and lots of mysql databases :), CPanel would be a big plus :).

im also looking at doing a live show say once a week (ala webmasterradio :) ) but not as big as those so streaming support would help.

i can pay about $25 a month, any suggestions.

Take a look at the platinum plan for www.uchosting.com. As far as podcasting goes, do you have a script that you use already for your podcast feeds? Also, please keep in mind our servers run on linux so streaming audio such as .wma files are not possible with a linux box. Streaming via HTTP is not a problem at all. ICQ me if you have any questions, I can even hook you up with a free 1st month so that you can verify it meets your needs before committing to a monthly payment.

Oh and all accounts come with cPanel :)

    Cheers

hi mate, i host my sites at Hostgator. Use baby plan ( 75GB bandwidth for 9.95$- think its good price for reliable hosting). Havent any problems, 99.9% uptime, live support, cpanel, mysql and more.

I'm also very happy with Hostgator's baby plan as many other DP users here are as well.

I use hostingaddiction.com and their unlimited plan. No worries about going over any limits and they have lightning fast servers and bandwidth connections.

What more can you ask for??? :p

HostGator.com has been really good. I host HostSly.com there, and it's been up 24/7 for the last 2 months.

They might be generous with bandwidth, but not so much with disk space. 500 MBs with their $9.95 plan is not very competetive.

One most important thing to consider is the reputation of a hosting company, and their professional quality. A big hosting company like pair.com, or futurequest.com have huge data centers. Lot of smaller hosts oversell, and they do not have the means to meet the requirements of a demanding customer. Rule of Thumb: Look for a big hosting company that has been in business for several years, and checkout references in forums like digitalpoint, sitepoint, and webhostingtalk. Wish you good luck!

For shared hosting I would recommend HostGator. For a vps or dedicated, Liquid Web is very good.
