Thats a fairly stupid question...

Rethink and rephrase.

 

Why is it stupid???

 

A) If we knew the answer, it would render our financial systems mainly useless - no point in a stock market etc.

B) ROI depends entirely on a myriad of factors, including risk, longevity, morality etc.

I think the biggest ROI is to buy a single ticket from every major lottery. Odds of winning anything are rather low - but there is the tiniest chance that you could win maximum jackpot in every single one... Then again, the ROI in this would still be worse then setting up your own Google or Microsoft - depending on how you value your time.

 

I know, I know...I'm asking you to suggest me some kind of investment i should try! I know I could lose! OK, where would you invest your $1000?

 

Hmm, invest in a site that already earns around 100 per month, and build the revenue up and resell it.

Highly subjective of course, but if I were you (although this depends whether you're as good-looking as I am ), and I have plenty of time in hand, I would buy a dozen or two commonly themed domains and develop it. May not make you a millionaire, but, with a reasonable effort and some common sense, you should be generating a couple of hundred a month

 

I know it sounds coy, but reducing debt is a sure fire way of limiting future obligations.

And you will sleep better...

Seriously though, $1000 isn't much but is a good start if you follow these simple instructions...

1, Get a domain name using a keyword search tool, try to find one that has over 1,000,000 searches a month. Make sure that the competition for the search results isnt too high. Make sure that you can find something to build around that domain.

2, Find a good SEO friendly PHP script to build your site.

3, Get some VPS hosting from Hostgator, start with level 1 for under $20 a month and when your site gets busy, upgrading is no problem.

4, Get an Adsense account and follow the terms and heatmaps to have the best possible ad positioning.

5, If you have $600 left over after the domain name, hosting and a good SEO friendly PHP script, use it for SEO. You can find many good companies that will guarantee you top 10 results for your domain name, but it is costly.

6, Most importantly, WORK DAMN HARD!!!!!

After about 2 months, you should start to see a return, depending on your niche. It took me 3 years of hard work with zero funding to make a living from 6 websites. Many webmasters make lots more than me, it all depends on how many hours you are prepared to do and how good you are at it. There are many other factors to include, depending on your niche, but searching the internet you will find almost everything you need.

Having $1000 to spend, spent in the correct manor, is a very good start.

3. Sell it for 4X the montly income worth
4. Repeat Step 1
