This "cookie stuffing" sounds very profitable. Only drawback is getting caught it would seem.

No need to lock it. People are going to want to chat about the case. It is, after all, huge news for the Affiliate Industry, especially anyone who does cookie stuffing.

I think it is summed up quite well here:

The only updates I'm aware of are those I've read on the internet like the one from Revenews.com. As for an official update - never going to happen. Someone under criminal investigation is not going to make any statements on the internet about it. That would just be foolish.

As for people 'insulting DP' - meh, who cares.

There are 2 cases here, a private civil case filed by eBay and a criminal case filed by the FBI

The evidence required for a conviction in a civil case is much lower than a criminal case. A good example of that would be the criminal and civil cases involving OJ Simpson's alleged murders.

Therefore, it would be logical for the FBI to wait and see how the civil case goes before deciding to file charges, especially with regards to the evidence. The fact that it does decide to file charges must be a bit ominous. Any fines imposed by the criminal case will pale in comparison to punitive damages that may be imposed in the civil case. Certainly, the latter would be enough to bankrupt anybody and certainly may involve DP.

In a situation like this, Shawn will need to have an extremely good defence team.

isnt it obvious what Shawns been upto? For those high horse septics like Paul Myers and Roger davis who think it's members cookie stuffing how else would $15 million dollars find its way into Shawns ebay account? theres your evidence right there! What more evidence do you need? no one else would be stuffing cookies for someone elses gain

Nah, it's more fun to hear all the funny things people say, but here's some of the funnier ones...

    1. I was arrested (I've never been arrested or even handcuffed in my life).
    2. I received a $15.5 BILLION fine (lol... wtf?).

Rather amusing that people think $15M worth of "cookie stuffing" (or any for that matter) happened to users of this forum... that would have worked out to me making $215 PER USER on average. You guys would have had to buy a LOT of crap from eBay.

If you read the complaint, the complaint doesn't claim 100% of earnings were via cookie stuffing (or even a large portion).
