He never replied to me (after IMing a couple of times) about putting the money in Scriptlance Escrow (Amit provided the link which shows he has already accepted it 38 times in the past and was last active yesterday)

It seems too weird that he accepts Escrow through there but not in this situation where an anonymous guy came in to say what a great SEO he is.

Its unfortunate but I have no choice but to bow out for good and find another SEO freelancer.

If he is legit, its really a shame because I was looking to hire him for a years contract once he proved themself...The search goes on lol

No problem, Im actually in the process of hiring 3 people (an hour a day each to start) so if they end up doing good, I will pass it along

PS. Ever since I mentioned Escrow, this guy has completely ignored my IMs (after previously responding within seconds)

    Cheers

I think it's at this point most abandon him as a prospect and move on. It's fair to assume he's likely done the same.

Why waste the time I say :)

3 Ppl a day sounds like progress. Hope they pan out :)

    Cheers,

    JL

    What's up everyone
I'm a member over at v7n but thought I'd contribute as i found this thread on google when researching this Ashoke Banerjee guy.

I think this guy is the same as pingpong123 but backgammonn123 on v7. here is a search for his posts:
    http://www.v7n.com/forums/search.php?searchid=312459

I emailed banerjee and got the similar $500 thing, emailed him back with some questions about how he works (if I get a copy of the links etc etc) common link building questions. Never got a response back...

Hope this helps prevent someone getting scammed. Never paid the money tho so I can't be 100% sure.

From the start of the thread and the way the guy was talking about his buddy, it reminded me of viral marketing.

That was no mistake and i have nothing to hide so i dont go out of my way to hide things. All i know is that he is good and has never done me wrong. Anyways he has hooked up with a big client and hes finally being treated right. Right now im just looking at making lots of adsense pages and getting them to the top. Less headache of worrying about all this paranoia and im gonna do the same for him. He shouldnt be begging anyone for work and im making sure he never does.
    best regards

Isn't that nice. Your story comes with a happy ending. :) Is this the moment where he builds a "castle of air" or is that after the $500 is paid?

Ahahah i laughed, ping pong ignore my pm, i sent it when browseing through page 2, but luckly I read the rest of this thread and realized this is most likely a scam. I think i will stay to the old and classic way of finding services.

It probably wasn't brilliant for him to drudge up an old thread a month and a half later, knowing he'd probably get attacked. But haven't we heard it all? Let this thread die already. ;)

You guys are really paranoid. I know it isnt a scam and everything i said was true. I agree it wasnt brilliant because everyone is biased allready. I have never ripped anyone off yet. Go through all of my posts on othe rboards and if u can find one instance where i did please let me know. If you could find just one then im 100% wrong on everything i said. He did find a big client and he has found another. You guys have no proof that i have ever ripped anyone off or scammed anyone yet u guys still persist with all this dribble.

He no longer is at scriptlance because he told me that they owe him money and he is paranoid of the scrow process because of that. I have worked with him for over a year. This was just alot of trouble which is why he decided to stick to the clients that i find myself elsewhere . Maybe his paranoia was a bit overboard but he has been ripped off so much that he is a bit gunshy of message boards so i have started looking through other channels.
I love digital points . This is the best place online for me to find fair prices on services so i will always come here. there is no way i can prove i havent ever ripped anyone off but i know myself deep down inside and i always sleep with a good concsience:)

That seems to imply that you've been trying. :D

I don't think people are being paranoid for refusing to send $500 via a service that has no buyer protection. Especially when the only person who can recommend him seems to be mysteriously in love with him.

Raisin if someone does good work then u recommend him. I agree about the sending 500 bucks to someone who doesnt have a large portfolio but like i said before its from the nda. Im just happy to be on this forum cause i have picked up some good services here.

It's not the NDA that scared people off it's the fact that the guy won't take paypal or use an escrow service.

I never stated he was trying to "rip me off"...What I was saying was that I tried to hire him and he had no idea what he was talking about once it came to brass tacks. In other words, he talked a big game but in the end he had so many conditions and obstacles, it made it impossible to actually do business with the guy.

Also the fact that every time I PMd him, PingPong suddenly entered into the IM in a three way conversation basically trying to aggresively push me into giving the guy a bunch of money.

If he has a huge client, why not just let this thread die...I already wasted enough time trying to hire the guy you "suggested"
