What do you mean by shine? Do you want a gradient which is like two/three colours inside the text?

To achieve a basic shine for a novice in photoshop. Use the following style effects.
    Outer Glow,
    Gradient Overlay,
    and Bevel And emboss.

    Hope it helped

    Hello !
I guess you should apply the gradient tool to the text and duplicate the layer. It will give a nice shine to it.. You can also toogle with gradient to get your desired results.
    Best of Luck :)

And yes I forgot to mention that you can also apply the outer glow and change its setting to set it right according to your requirements.
