I was invited into the new Digg and it's quite a big change in the way the site works. Rather than the top news section being default, the homepage is "my news" which is personalized to each user by the people/websites you follow on Digg. It works very similar to Twitter - there is even a suggested user list and everything.

There is a huge new feature for us webmasters, the ability to import an RSS feed (you must verify you own the feed first by adding a verification key to a post similar to Technorati). Importing your RSS feed will automatically submit those items to Digg, so you never have to worry about manually submitting again. It works really well.

I am using the new digg for some days(I was invited). the user interface is much improved, but it seems like a elite lounge and it will show items from your friends, and interest, nothing else.

But most ridiculous thing is articles submitted on new digg do not show up in the default digg. It made me stop using it.

I hope it's going to be interested. I just recently became a regular everyday digg reader.

Excited to see the new changes.

    Sound the horns!

Lots of complaints about the new platform, but that has always been the case when a new version of Digg is about to roll out. There is a TON of changes though and even though it was easy to use it didn't feel like Digg anymore especially with the friend connect just like Twitter. Maybe they will finally be able to come out with some decent digg mobile apps now.

I just joined the new Digg, as I requested an invite.

It looks really good in my book, but it's still in Beta. They're definitely still tweaking things, and I think it will continue to improve. It doesn't look like they've added a digg toolbar yet, so right now when you click on an article it takes you completely out of digg. Doubt that's how it's going to be.

The Digg toolbar feature was removed for v4 and isn't coming back. Apparently it wasn't very well-liked with many big sites "blocking" it (by breaking their site out of the frame) that it became kinda useless.

Well this sounds pretty cool - I admit I don't spend a lot of time on there but maybe once they make changes I will.

I found that Mashable has 1,000 invites. You can get one there.
I find the RSS feature interesting.....sounds like the sort of thing they banned us for in the past.
So if it is YOUR site's feed, it would have been flagged.
I would post maybe once a day from one of my sites and got everything banned and all my postings deleted after about a year. Losing that SE traffic was devastating.
Have yet to find a proxy that works to get back in.

For the beta period, yes. Once it goes live it will be free to register. I have four invite codes left if you want one.

The new digg is technically live, it is however really slow.
