Web Host or Online Gaming?

Discussion in 'General Business' started by papastiffy, Aug 26, 2010.

Hello, I'm about to throw not only my money but my time as well into a new website.

I'm just starting out, on my way to college and feel I will have limitied time to put into a site.

In your opinion, what would be the better option? A web hosting site or an online flash game site w/ adsense for revenue?

Also, any other suggestions that could possibly make more money?

    Thanks!

Both are great. IMHO if your choosing online game, I suggest that you try MMORPG private server it much easier to get revenue from that rather than online flash games.

It would all depend on your budget, and what kind of ROI you are expecting from this. I started out reselling web hosting, and earnt a tidy income without paying that much upfront.

Maybe try reseller hosting and see what you think, add me to a IM if you would like any help.

    Kind regards,

I believe online gaming is a good option. You can develop flash games and promote your gaming website... If you can start both at one go (of your budget permits) then nothing like it. Get a reseller account and there you go...

Mind everyone I have also created several flash sites before, however my budget has increased significantly (nothing to around 600 bucks) so this desicion is a bit more important hence why I ask. =]

    @Huggy Essex -

Thank you! If I need any help I'll let you know.

I leave for school in a few days and I think I'm going to start the flash site instead. It allows me more time rather than having to answer emails and run an entire business. Thanks for the suggestions!

both of them are profitable . if you have unique games can get good result from online games, in my opinion web hosting doesn't need a unique idea you create an reseller account and make money from them .

    good luck

I'd definitely go with web hosting. Find a friend who's into web design, team up with him and you have a small internet business right there. That's how I started.

Go for web hosting because its more easy to manage and the profit margin is higher.

Do not jump into hosting business if you have no knowledge. At least hire support staff and a server admin to make sure you can serve people
