is unique content so important?

    I have seen lots and lots of people ranting about the importance of unique content but some big entertainment sites that have same videos or games as other big entertainments site earn a lot.
    So i'm wondering is unique content really so important?

    Well, these are few exceptions.
    Few sites are too big that you need months to explore them. So if you are a Gamer, you will like to see every bit of it.
    But these sites also get updates frequently. (If not every day)

    You need to provide something to your users to visit your site again & again. What do you think that could be??

    I dont think i will visit wwe.com that often if they will not get update? Will you?

    With billions of pages on the net, it's hard to conceive of a site that offers truly unique content. I think the "unique content" issue is more complicated than meets the eye. It's easy to rant endlessly about the need for "unique content," but it's not so easy to define what constitutes unique content. The subject is beaten to death...that is not unique. IMO, it's sufficient to have a semi-unique content so long as it is interesting, useful and worthy of a return visit.
