You need to have many link back from high PR site.

For example you can buy signature link at forum.

My advice would be forget Pagerank.

focus on increasing the value of your website initially by improving on the quality & quantity of your content & features. Focus on keyword research, finding great terms which have some traffic & not too much competition, "low hanging fruit" - focus on making your visitor experience as high as possible by having a great website - then backlinks will start coming of their own accord, as the best linkbait is a great website with great content & features.

At this stage though - you can of course increase link popularlity by focusing on building good backlinks, but I would personally avoid the herd. The majority of backlinking that people are doing, spending ages directory submitting, social bookmarking, blom commenting & so on is often very innefective, in facte I suspect that of these kinds of activities, probably 25% or less of your actions will be effective in any way, possibly a lot less.

Ignore pagerank all together though - it's toolbar pagerank, you never really know what it is as it's months out of date most of the time, and Google even admit themselves that when it's updated it's not always correct anyway. What is important is the true rank, which you'll never see ;)

    Thanks

    Kev

    Thanks for in-depth Suggestion.
But why I need PR is that when i talk about giving ad in my site or link exchange, they ask about page rank, so i thought it might be an important status of my site.
And what do u mean by keyword research ? sorry I am totally noob in this

The more backlinks you have the better. Then if backlinks are from highly trusted sites thats even better. You can determine if a site is highly trusted by looking at their PR rank. The higher PR rank the more trusted the domain is.

    Hope that helped a bit.

    Hi)
dude, 3 days is very little time)))) you r too impulsive, wait at least a week, and 20 backlinks is few...so do ahead,
and you have to know that results cant be seen in a moment.

Keep writing content atleast twice or thrice every week. Then dont forget to bookmark the content. Within the next week, you can start buying some quality backlinks from PR5 and above sites for atleast 3 months, as the PR update might be in the end of October. Your site will also get good amount of backlinks by that time.

I have several backlinks and my site is 2 months old, I am on google page 1 on several phrases, 3000+ UV/month and still don`t see a page rank. My site look and feel is pretty lame is it something to do with the page rank?

    What does "average links" means?

You can get a PR1 even for 1 link...or even more. Have CNN.com link to you and for sure you will get PR3 or more.

It is purely a ball park as it doesnt factor in the "quality" of the link....

As has already been said, unless your site's revenue is going to be by selling links to other sites (not adverts) then PR means nothing and you should concentrate on something which will add value.

Would you rather have the site that has a PR of 7 and makes $100 a month or the site with a PR of 4 but makes $100,000 a month?
