Try citibank or american express if they are available in your country.
If you are from India then Citibank is the best bet to open a US $ checking account.
Do PM me if you need help...

If that is the same company as mentioned in this thread one might think again. One of their resellers is warning uses of Virtual Money Inc. fortunately.

HSBC in Canada square, London, uk (inward investments department) can advise you on this - or of course via your own country branch -- its possible -- but very time consuming in terms of prepaping documents, registering your business etc etc -

The basics require an account in your own country - then an affiliated account in the usa. Some other docs generally needed are a certificate of good standing, all major forms of id, company reg docs etc etc

    good luck though

    Hello,
Was looking today for how to open a US bank account for non-US residents and what I have found is:
Valis international are charging $600 for opening a US Corporate bank account(for non-US entities) + EIN + US Office fee, so total is ~$1k + the fees for forming the company. (mentioning them because formed a LLC with them).

    just my 2 cents.

Yes, you can open a bank account without residency.
I don't know all and every bank but I'm pretty sure that Washington Mutual and Suntrust will do it, at least with a passport...

Bank of America will do this for you no problem but you must go to the branch. I know that Washington Mutual in Bellingham does this as well. I have a Bank of America account and everything has worked out great so far. They gave me a visa check card and I can take money out for free at any Scotiabank here in Canada as well. Good luck!

There are so many websites offering this info. it isn't funny. I didn't want to pay, but eventually I just got sick of looking and bought a guide from www.bankaccountusa.com and I got my account. I suppose it was worth it in the end.

    Yes,

As a non-resident/non-citizen of the United States it is possible for you to open up a bank account in the United States. The way you do this is to register a company in the United States (recommend Nevada). You will need an address for the business (there are services online that will be the address for your business). You can then open up a bank account as well as operate as a 100% legitimate US business depsite the fact that you have never set foot in the United States.

One great reason to do this is it allows you to accept Google Checkout payments.

I would also like to know how to do this or even where to start. Does it matter which country you're from originally?
