What is cloaking in term of SEO?

 

Cloaking is a black hat tactic which redirect the user to any other web resource, this is completely unethical so avoid it otherwise Google penalize the site.

 

Even with Facebook PPC, the site you are advertising has to be the site that will be given to the 'clickee'.

if you click that search link means you get Another link or Affiliate link..
that means Hiding the affiliate link from google bot...
But if Google has find out it means your domain or site Will loss Rank ..
the cloaking can be achieved by Some Scripts like PHP..

I think members have provided enough information on cloaking, I think mostly bit.ly and other links of same types used to achieve this.

 

Cloaking = black hat SEO. Sites that are caught doing cloaking goes to the sandbox on the search engines.

 

Yes , and you should take care when buying domains if they used to be cloaked, you will end up in buying a domain that will not be indexed by search engines

 

I think you can still regain a domains good reputation towards SEO if you can publish new contents and themes for the bought web domains. Your site will not at all remain in Google's sandbox I reckon.

Cloaking generally means to present different version of web page contents from of search engines to search robots and human visitors based on their browser's user agent or IP address. It's a deceptive method used to cheat search engines in order to rank well for desired keywords.

 

its another technique that everyone should avoid... like everybody said its black hat and should not practice.

 

Used to be awesome technique to use, now its mainly used by hackers to take legitimate traffic from your site to their money pages. I hate hackers, cost me thousands...

Dont try any black hat activity otherwise google will ban your website...cloaking is a black hat activity..
