Host Gator or offshore hosting for online movies site

    Hey All,

    I have a question. In order to make (copyrighted) watch online movie site, am I ok to use hostgator service or should I need offshore hosting?

    if the answer is offshore hosting can any one please advise any cheap and best offshore hosting service...

    It would be better to use offshore hosting. I believe that it is against HostGator's service for copyrighted content that you don't have permission to use.

    You'll need something offshore though I can't give you any recommendations.

    HostGator will close his account right after publishing the first movie.

    You can use embed code from sources like Hulu to put full movies content on your site. If you upload full copyprotected movies without a licensing agreement, then you run the risk of a DCMA complaint. Since HG is in the USA, THEY MUST COMPLY WITH US laws. You may or may not be shut down by HG- usually they warn you first and if you comply with the DMCA take down request you may be ok.

    There are other legal ways to add movies/episodes to your HG site. for example:

    HostGator does not tolerate those websites.

    You need offshore hosting for sure... hostgator will not allow you to host online movies site... but, maybe they will allow you if you take vps plan

    Dont use hostgator.....As above said your account will be suspended if they find your site offering copywrited material

    One more thing.....if you will be hosting movies on your own server even if for watching online than you will need Good Space and Double Bandwidth....and simply shared hosting will not work good..You will have to buy a dedicated server or vps for a start

    You will need to go offshore if you want to stream the files yourself, also you will need a top range VPS.

    It's a tough area a the net to be involved in...
