As we all know both are the giants in realm of the web but in two different way. Google is the biggest SE while FB is the biggest Social Networking sites. There are more than 500 million user in FB. And more that 5 billion min. time is spent on FB per months. Simultaneously people is leaning towards facebook ads. The question is that will facebook ads beat Google adwords? Will Google let FB dominate like this? The rumor is that Google is coming up with new Social networking site 'Google me'. Share your thought on this.

Facebook ads are dogshit and a half. The majority (80%) of the people that use it lose their money..you're better off sticking with Adwords or other PPC campaigns.

Well you can do much better demographic targeting with Facebook, but on the hand people don't visit Facebook to buy things, on the big G they're actively searching, often with intent to buy.

I think Facebook is and will be more successful for gathering users around the world. But i agree 'Canyoudigit'. I think Facebook ads are not useful for advertisers and i think Google will have better plans for advertisers and people who are using it for business purposes.

Ive heard and read so much bad feed backs on facebook ads. I think Google has an edge with Facebook still. Social networking s far different search engines like Google.

Since everyone who know anything about marketing knows facebook is mostly for branding products, they are ok with what they are getting from facebook. For being dogshit, facebook seems to be doing ok.

Facebook and google are different form each other. And also, they have totally different use for viewers or users. And for the facebook ads, I think its just one way of spreading the "news" around like any other social networking sites like twitter, tumblr, myspace, etc.

I think comparing Facebook and Google is comparing apples and oranges. They are completely different companies and products. I also don't understand why you think people are moving away from Google AdWords in favor of Facebook ads, as they are completely different markets. Plus, as big as Facebook is, there is no way it can even come close to competing with Google for advertising. Google makes BILLIONS in PROFIT on advertising. Facebook just cannot compete with that kind of capital availability and Google has a vested interest in holding its market position.

I hope you are joking. Facebook's total yearly revenue is about 10% of Google's PROFIT.

I found no luck with Facebook ads compared to Adwords. As soon as they approve your add you receive a bunch of hits (sucking your ad money) and then nothing again for days and days until you edit your add and they re-approve the changes. It's a waste.

I am trying my luck with facebook ads. But as everybody says, i will not place too much faith in it. Still, at least there are less competition.
