I strongly recommend focusing on traffic and content first, that way you can test the water to see if there is a market before you waste a lot of hours implementing advertising. Many people obsess over putting more ads, tweaking Adsense units, trying different affiliate programs but they have barely any traffic.

If you only get a handful of visitors a day the quickest way to earn more is build more content and promote to get more traffic. Once you have more traffic any work you do on monetization will have a much more pronounced effect.

It can easily be put in two words : Knowledge and Action, and failure occurs, there is no guarentee for success even if you know the recipe.

They are all different threads discussing different things. What is it that upsets you about them?

Compared with $3000/month, people who earn $100/month are doing something wrong, and they DON'T ADAPT.

People who are earning $3000/month, have adapted all the time, and because of that, they reached the high revenue.

What I am trying to say is that there are lot of people doing the same things over and over again, and wondering why doesn't their revenue increase. I'm not saying that one should try a method for a few days and then give up, but after some time if your main methods are not increasing your revenue, it is a good idea to rethink your strategy :)

I recommend sticking out any strategy out for 6 months, and while doing so make small (but only small) changes to your strategy to experiment with what is more effective. If after 6 months to 1 year you are not gaining good traction then you should not quit, but PIVOT. By that I mean you take what you have already and apply it in a slightly different way. For example, you change traffic source to your existing site, or you change niche but use the same promotion tactics.

The important thing is not to abandon what you have already, but try and build on it in some way, while significantly changing direction.

The number one thing that separates the successful from the unsuccessful is the mindset.

In second place is the communication and psychology of marketing. Most people just don't get it and don't understand what marketing is all about.

Once you have those crucial foundational elements in place, you can start building on top of it.

I think OP point on focusing on one project is mute as I've seen some people switching around doing things and still make big bucks.
