Would you donate to build a large database

This database will be usefull to a lot of people and will be open source. Not only that a lot of php scripts and seo tools will be provided open source. It will also feature a lot of benefits for registered (free) webmasters like search engine submissions, directory submissions etc. Intrested?

 

Frankly, it depends on what the database is for and why it exists.

 

To build the worlds largest directory. It has 3.5 Billion Categories and We need money for the computers, place, staff etc. We have a revenue model ready for the the third month onwards. Till then we have time to setup our infrastructure. We have to complete the project in that time. We have planned and scripted the whole process so that most of the work is done automated. 100% sucessful project.

Sorry, but if you want cash - you are going to have to do a damn sight better at selling the proposition than the piecemeal chunks you doled out so far.

Sell this exciting new venture to us, get us excited about it and reaching for our wallets.

Right now, I can set up a copy of Dmoz in about 30 minutes - why is your directory so much better and how will it trounce Dmoz commercially ?

chandubhai what's your angle, what are you bringing to the net that is new and fresh? You should be able to sum up in a sentance or two and get us interested if you're to have a hope of getting the support you're looking for!

 

The revenue model. And the way We have planned our one way backlinks. We will not take 2 years to list a website. Editors will share a part of the revenues (this will avoid the curruption). Each Editor passes a different site from a different categoyr thus solving the problem of abusive editors. Each site will go through a 6 step review process. Plus visitors abuse reports will be takn seriously. We already have a team of 40 people all geared up to share the work load. I am getting my finances and legalities right before going online. There is a lot to say about this project. Ask me questions.

 

We will also provide webmasters with free tools like statistics counters, Forums Scripts and a hoard of other remotely hosted scripts. Nearly everything what a webmaster requires. and all this for just a link to us. This link will benefit our inside pages. Donators can also get a featured listing on this website. Because of the techinical value (i dont want to specify trademarks). People will seek priority links on our directory. They will have to donate a small amount per link per day. (thus solving the problem of click fraud). Higher the donation, higher the ranking. Donations will start at 2 Cents per category per site.

 

Webmasters can also request names of directories that will be added to our Directory Submission Tool. This tool will also be free to use for registered members. Webmasters can also request new scripts that we will make our programmers. We being in a country like India. It is possible to get a lot of quality people for a low price.

Are you thinking free directory or for fee? Why build a new one. What's wrong with dmoz or yahoo?

 

eh.. i have bigger and better ideas than this one and currently under development, which will be release around december. We need donations too, but figured that when the actual project is released we will look for donations then. From what i take from your idea is alot of talk. Has development begun? You state it has 3.5 billion categories, yet the site isnt up yet? Also 3.5 billion categories huh.. ok..
