Need help to start up business

I'm new in here, so first I would like to say hi to all of you.

I'd like to know, what things I need to start setting up a new business. I consider that making a web page, having lots of visits per day, and advertisement money is my thing.

How should I start? Please, tell me something to get my ass on the road and start running an e-business.

I know what I'm asking is very vast and general, but, if you know any e-book or pages to guide me, they're very welcomed.

no, i'm not going to sell something. I want to make a webpage, I don't know of what, but my intention is to have visits on it, and make the money by placing some advertising on it.

It's important that you know what the page is going to be about, I suggest picking a niche, researching it & making a comprehensive site about it. Then get all the traffic in that niche

 

I agree with eXe, the most important thing is defining who is going to be reading you and why. Based on that you can start thinking about the kind of content you will have and in turn that will decide the design for your site.

 

my idea is to make a site related to soccer, put info, some pics. but i don't know if it would be very profitable. I'm very new on this, and with every reply I learn a lot.

You have to consider, what do I have to offer that I can do better than the next guy. The info has to stay current and be more narrowly focused. Maybe fouc on your favorite team or player, or on fantasy soccer or something like that. Then look at your competition and see what you can do better. Then do it. It won't be easy money though. You'll probably be making < $1 / hour for a while. It's worth doing though if it's fun for you... that way the $$$ will be a bonus.

 

well I was thinking like that couple of months ago.. and so far I have invested around $700 in cash and about $2000 worth of my time in www.SoccerFriend.com and so far it makes around .16 cents a day..

I know I am doing something wrong.. anyway that is just some info about what you were up to start .. may be you will be doing it better then i do

 

I would suggest putting an ad at the top of the page somewhere..might generate more clicks.. Blend it in a lil more. I like your site. Looks good.

exe's right too about the niche thing, like if you have a hobby or interest think about maybe running a site about that?

 

soccerfriend, your ads are out of plain site, put an ad between one of the content headers in the CENTER of your page, garuntee that will increase CTR

I don't want to discourage you but you are on the wrong path. the same which i have covered in seven long years. And to tell you the truth, if you came here reading some newspaper article or magzine or may be on some website that you can make a lot of money on the internet then you should also know that business is a serious thing and not a kids play. there are lot of things which have to be considered even before you think of putting up a website.

The scammers or the so called "gurus" can easily influnece you telling you how great it is to open a website or something like that and start earning a six figure income. What they don't tell you is the time they have spent doing this before the results started coming in.

If you really want to do this then go home and try to learn a little more about what do you want to do. Because its gonna stick around your neck and cause you a lot of pain.

To give you a headstart let me tell you a few things about e-business. It is not as free as it has been made out. every business needs funds and so this one too. If you dont plan in advance you will just keep blowing your money out even without you knowing it.

Consider these things.
1. What is your website about
2. How much space it will require to host your website
3. how much bandwidth do you expect to spend per month. ( it is the no.of visitors * sapce required by your website)
4. How you are going to earn your money

etc. check out this workbook and do your homework. I am saying all this because i have already suffered so i don't want others to suffer.

I am not saying dont do this but be prepared before you start doing this.

 

First of all: Read topics in webmasters topics, take attention to webmasters news and then you will see what kind of business you would like to do, next step will be to find the way how to strat your business. Third step: you will search way how to promote and earn money from your business. Don't hesitate to ask, we all were newbies in webmasters world.
