you are 25 and they wont let you go places? hmmmm, are you sure you've proved to them that you really are mature enough? or are you still assuming allot of childish behavior? at 25 I was in London on my own from 6 years, but at 14 I was already bringing a wages at home and greatly contributed in the support of the family, like a gown up.

You mentioned in your culture that it was normal to live at home until marrying - perhaps this is a cultural thing more than an over-protective thing.

Traditionally certain cultures wont treat you as an adult until you are married or, sometimes, married AND have a child.

Are your parents religious? If particularly devout but living in the US they may be worried about Western influence.

    Just a guess.

Don't be hateful with your parents, they always want best thing for us. Proof your parent that you are old enough to go at bar.

I still don't know how to swim, but almost all the people around me can swim, my parents wouldn't let me to swim at my childhood.

The one thing you hate about parents.... is that they are no longer with me. My dad died 20 years ago when I was 20 and my mum 2 years ago.

your parents are being overprotective, tell them to mind their own business. You are not a baby, speak your mind, not cry here.

some people hang around the forum so that they can just tell other people off for their threads, why don't they think about their own business?

Just move out. By now you should be done with college and on your own. At that point your parents have no control over you.

Im 20 and live with my Dad. Soley because I cant afford an apartment, and he sees no point in paying for a place for me to live, when I can live with him 5 minutes from school. Makes sense. Since its his house, out of appreciation for him I abide by his rules. Yes im 20 and can say "SUCK MY D--- DAD!!!", I would like to have a place to live, and I would like my dad to pay for my college.

If you feel they dont give you enough leeway, talk to them about it like a man, and they will probably give you it.

I guess as soon as you are able to earn money you should start living separately from your parents,
visiting them on weekends or some holidays, only in this case you could avoid hyper-protection from their side

I love my parents, but they can be very frustrating! They're just older and set in their ways - they also fret too much!
