Want to Flatten a PDF

i have a e brochure of my company made in illustrator want to get it flattened in order to reduce the size and the design not to be stolen , but the flatten artwork does not seem to work in illustrator , any help would be greatly appreciated

 

Did you try the top right button in the "layers" window and click "flatten artwork"?

 

i tried using the flattening the artwork , in pdf as well as ai files none seem to work ,the layers are still visible

 

the easiest way is using foxit pdf editor to merge any file to one.

if u dont have the prog,

@hereya i think that is to merge files where as i want layers in each pdf to be flattened , any ways thanks for your help

 

WpWired, that's odd. If you've got a PDF with the layers, highlight all of the layers and right click in the selected layers, and click Rasterize. Then highlight them all again and press Ctrl+e to merge them all into one. Save it as a .jpg or .png for best quality. Hope this helps!

thanks but the issue is this that i have a epdf of my brochure and i want to retain its text so that it can be searchable whereas i want the design to be flattened so that it the design cannot be copied ,

 

if it was flattened, you could still copy it? but it will just be the whole thing. Why dont you save the design as a background (flattened) then overlay the text? is this for online? or a pdf

 

WpWired, now you're making more since. How are you publishing the brochure? Is it online? What I would do is make a duplicate of all the text layers and put them into a group. Then select all the other layers and merge them into one layer. That way you will have the design flattened into one layer and the text would still be on-top and accessible as text.

 

@Piggy the problem here is that i am least aware of using illustrator and the person whom i got designed is asking way too much money for it . and i cannot seem to find a easy way out .

 

yes, i think you can save it as .jpg to flatten it
