    If you are not familiar with SEO yet, you can start with the basic on your own. Submit your website to free online ads site, you can search them in Google, there are lots of free online ads. It will help you promote your website.

    Yes Adwords is a good way to burn through any advertising budget. You may want to try Bing instead as the keyword costs aren't as high (but are slowly climbing due to the increasing popularity of Bing).

    Personally, I would make sure that you've optimized your site totally with regard to SEO and usability (get some people to test how customer friendly the site it) and whatnot before you even consider paying for advertising. Also, you could try making your site a lot less white (although that us just a personal opinion).

    Social bookmarking is like saving favorites on IE or bookmarking on Firefox except that you're saving to a website like Delicious, StumbleUpon, Digg, etc. Everyone can access your bookmarks. People can search through content that other people consider relevant.
