It is one of the easiest thing to do in order to generate traffic. If your topic is interesting, you'll get attention. If your content is good enough, you'll keep the traffic and make them loyal visitors. You just need to keep on doing this.

Submission to article submission site
If your article is great quality, and you have confidence that they won't be rejected. Article sugmission sites could be of great help. The bad thing about article submission sites is that it is much more complicated than submission to social bookmarking sites. So it is much time consuming. I'm selecting the best articles I've writen to submit instead of submitting all of my articles to avoid spending too much time on this aspects.

Submission to social networking sites
As you know, social networking is so powerful in getting traffic these days with the number of users growing at dramatical speed. Recommend your site to your friends on facebook, MySpace, etc. If they find it worth reading, they are likely recommend it to their friends on social network, and the influence might keeps on going. It will turn to be a rolling snowball.

Posting informative posts on forums
Posting on forums is a good way to get backlinks with signatures. You might get some traffic as people might click on your signature link. But the real trick is to list some suggestions and keep some. List the URL to the post and say the rest information could be found at that URL. People who are interested will visit your site for it.

Submission to directories
Based on my personal experience in SEO, Submission to directories is not of too much help in generating traffic. But why not give it a try when you've got time and energy. Won't do harm anyway, and there is possibility of getting your PR increase.

 

Well the easiest way would be PPV, Media Buying but it really depends on your end goal because PPV can melt your server within an hour and still make no money.

 

Usually I find great community (big forums, social network groups, etc) and communicate. As a rule, I find new friends, I'm become active member. After that I push my links.

I'm not sure about social web sites like facebook, StumbleUpon etc.
They drive traffic but stays too short on the site.
Easy come easy go !

Create a contest and ask people to make viral content.

 

There are really 2 main way to do this. SEO or paid advertising. The latter being my favorite and recommended one.
