    Seriously, social networking is probably the worst thing to get into bearing in mind the huge userbase than is required to make it in any way successful.

    I would be surprised if you could make a product that would rival the likes of Facebook, Twitter, FlickR etc. You would be better off making some sort of service that integrates with the other social networks.

    The social networking market is now full... There is no room for others. The effort to compete, let alone the cost will not be bearable. I am sure of this.

    I wouldn't be trying with Social Networking, Facebook has really destroyed any possible competition out there. I mean if you have the idea, a good idea it's worth a shot not everyone loves Facebook.
