Advertising is good. Social networking sites are very popular these days but still it depends on the 'type of business'.

 

I think if you can target your particular ad to a certain audience then it's a good idea. If you're trying to target a broad audience, I don't like it.

Its quite effective to advertise in Facebook. I have seen that advertising in Google and Facebook has almost the same effectivity.

Our director has a twitter account and since it's launch (6 - 9 mnths ago) he has been working hard sending out tweets with decent content he wrote.
He is only giving his followers (who are real people in our industry) good, solid, marketing advice.

Our facebook page has not been as popular but it depends on the marketing / target audience you are after.
