728x15 Ad Unit

Is there anybody else who thinks this is a good idea?

Notice I said ad unit, not link unit. The content would be similar to a small banner ad. The format would read horizontally:

Ads by Google :: Celestron Telescope :: Shop for deals on Electronics Here

I was not dissatisfied with the performance of my link units. However, some of the link unit topics such as "Satanic Bible" were offensive to our readers, so I had to reformat the site.

 

More options is better, however ur last part its a bit confusing

 

An ad unit has to have some description. Are you saying this unit will only show one ad with the text link and the description? With the 15 height, I don't think you'll be able to show any description in it.

IMO, this ad unit will not have more chances of being clicked because of its size and visibility.

 

Thanks...hopefully the edit is a little clearer. My problem is that there is no easy way to filter a particular topic out of a link unit.

 

A half banner is 234 x 60.
If you lay out those 3 lines horizontally:

234 x 3 =702 + Ads by Google = Approx 728

Visibility would need testing, but I would estimate it is similar to a link unit, without the need for 2 clicks.

 

Do you know what part of your content triggered the objectionable ads?

 

It is a Bible related site. The link topics tend to be such as "KJV Bible" "Bible Dictionary" "Wholesate Bibles" etc...so it was most likely triggered by the word Bible. The topic "Satanic Bible" was coming up on the link units for many of our pages.
