Twitter and facebook both are good source for generating traffic.
Twitter helps when you have many followers as anything that you tweet reach directly to your followers and if interested they visit that link. This give traffic to your website and thus helps in ranking also as now Google counts the traffic from Twitter for ranking. So try to follow the people of your niche as they may follow you back and this will surely increase your followers. Also try to post new updates on twitter as this will be of more interest to all. This is a simple way to use twitter for SEO.
And for facebook you have to make a fan page or business page and try to increase the fans for your page. You can do it by first making a personal profile, adding contacts on it and then going for a business page that can reach to your contacts and they like it or become a fan of it. You can directly ask them to do so. This gives exposure to your page. Here also post new updates in your niche on your business page. You can get more fans via your contacts as your page will be displayed on their profile also. So it also generates targeted traffic for your website.

if anyone wants to do business promotion then the twitter is the best place..where are facebook is also good but its more like for comments ...and profile creation/

 

I go for Facebook because its easier to use for me and have lots of applications.

 

Though I use both but feel more comfort with facebook as It's more easier to make friend and get them visited to my site. But it's a little bit difficult to get followers on twitter. But both of them are very important to get traffic.

I agree with you, But the account of Facebook is more then twitter thats why the reach of Fb is more then twitter.
we just follow on the twitter thats why followers can be more then friends on FB.

Facebook has more users than Twitter, even its very easy to operate with facebook, so i always use FB.

 

I choose facebook now , for on facebook i can show my pages more efficently . and here i get more traffics than twitter .

 

Twitter for marketing and FB for socializing.
