Wordpress SiteMap of GSite Crawler?

Discussion in 'Google Sitemaps' started by tonyrocks, Oct 18, 2006.

I meant to type Wordpress SiteMap OR Gsite Crawler...anyways:

Just a question. I have Arche's Sitemap generator for wordpress that automatically generates the sitemap after each post to my blog...works fairly quick.

I also have GSite Crawler to crawl my site...but takes forever!

So what should I be using?!! anyone have an idea? which is better?

    Hi,

Why do you need a sitemap with WordPress. The basic WordPress link structure is straightforward and, in my opinion, Google will find everything it needs without a sitemap.

I dunno...seems to me like Google really digs the xml sitemap...and it does a great job at reporting problems with the site structer.

I'd go with the easiest and quickest option.

They are both producing the same result more or less.

I use GSiteCrawler as well and find the reports very useful for fixing issues before uploading a sitemap. I am guessing its a large blog if its taking too long?

http://www.sitemapdoc.com/ is another useful sitemap generator.

With GSiteCrawler you can disable to crawler from checking images and other file extensions. Also try to disable the crawler from checking your links on Google's results, this would probably slow things down. You should get those options when you first start a new project.

Yeah, I'll try to start a new project. Sometimes I just start clicking away without reading the messages...I may be missing something important.
