Serious Concern regarding Site Hosting Issues

Discussion in 'Web Hosting' started by ketan9, Oct 18, 2006.

I have a question regarding hosting services. The hosting company I host my site with is having intermittent issues and some times the site does not get resolved. Otherwise it functions fine. I would like to know from other users, do they have similar problems with their hosting company or is it just me?

What's the option for me? Should I switch the host provider or setup my own server with a static ip? I do not want my site to go offline at frequent intervals like may be once in a week for 10 minutes to two hours. So I need an optimum solution. Please help or suggest:confused: .

All hosting companies have different problems with server, but not all put enough time, money and affords to keep server
as stable as it is possible. That is why you can see some advise to don't buy cheap hosting since such companies
can't do much to provide customers with good hardware and avoid overloading of servers.

yes, a dedicated server will be the best option for you if you can afford it and you have someone who can help
to manage your server or you have appropriate knowlages.

I would suggest finding a new host, running your own server will cost you more in power bills and frustration. Find a host that's got good uptime and you'll be good!

Your use of the word "resolved" concerns me a little. Perhaps this is a DNS issue, not a connectivity/server issue? Are they also doing your DNS?
