Has anyone actually made sales/conversions from facebook ads?

Just wondering what kind of luck people are having with facebook?. Seems like more of a branding technique than a way to generate sales. I would figure people are on facebook to check out status updates, see pics of their friends, etc... Not shop for things. What is your experience with this? Is it worth it to advertise if you're just getting hundreds of fans and no sales?

Yea, Facebook has some nice targeting options compared to other networks. Here's a hint one of you guys could prolly write a shitty eBook about.

Try Plentyoffish's advertising for dating promos. Do the rest yourself :)

I have but it's hard to always break even. The only success I ever had was promoting a business card offer. But even that was difficult at times and not worth it in the end to me.

Seems like it could be good if you want to collect "friends" but I'm thinking I'll sink more money into google adwords. Seems like a more direct path to a paying customer.
