HostGator Is Worst Hosting Service

Hi,

Just now i received a mail from hostgator stating that they have suspended my account.

The site theme is myspace related, high traffic site but was within bandwidth limit.

Beware of this S#iT service. The reason for suspending the account is "Too much traffic"

I think they have to remove the bandwidth concept.
I am aware of resource usage and all the issues related to server. But atleast they should have given me an intimation so that i would have moved to other server leaving this host"gutter" or "gator"

The actual reason behind this is i order a restore which they messed up, when contacted them regularly for corrections (which they messed up), the result is "Account suspend".

All ppl over there reading this, please do remember if you are targetting high traffic for your site please do even think of hostgator.com and their service.

I know there are ppl who are ok with them but this is my personal experience.

you should read terms of hosting service very carefully before applying ... they will be bankcurrpt if they let use unlimitied bandwidth ...
but yes thats true , they should intimate you and give you 1 or 2 days to move files ...
contact them and pay more to active your service or simply move your files to some other host .

dear i am not referring to unlimited bandwidth. What i reffered is My site was using the bandwidth with in the specified limit.

I've had a few problems with hostgator but they always seem to get resolved .. one way or another.

Just now i spoke to their live support.

the support person says "I have exceeded bandwidth"
LOL my bandwidth is set to 32.71Gb and usage till date is 10.13Gb

what a false statements by hostgator support (just covering things using baseless reasons), to be safe i even took screenshots of bandwidth usage.

 

do they have daily limit? or limit per week?

 

HostGator is advertised everywhere don't think they would do that. Even if they did they must have done it only to your account, or they must have messed something up and to cover the truth they just suspended your account.

 

Ok for hours i searched for dedicated host found many
just wanted to know whether any of you ever heard of this one www.canaca.com

If so please let me know your view.

That is COMPLELEY wrong, just because a service is well advertised doesn't mean that they have great service! Here is an example:

The prices are definitely messed up since they charge $3.99 for the services offered by a dedicated server....3 Accounts or not, it's wrong...

 

HostGator is the best web hosting company I have ever been with. Support is a little slow but they have been perfect other than that.

I had the same problem, I got a front page digg and they suspended my site for cpu usage which is fair enough. I had to upgrade to a semi dedicated. Maybe u could do this?

I dont want to go back to them, i am really pX##eD off with their treatment.
Not even considered to inform me before cutting off service.

The site is getting quite popular. Anyway i got to do lot of job this weekend.

I hate this additional work just because of sudden issues.

I know Hostgator don't like scraper sites

 

I can see how a host wouldn't want a site like that to be honest.

They can't be too bad after reading all those great reviews. My current host has been having downtime so much this past week. My site was down for 7 hours straight until i contacted them (i didnt know sooner because I was asleep) and after since then every other minute the mysql isn't work.

So i found a coupon here and got their baby plan and only paid 1 cent for the first month. I'll see how they are.

I think host gator likes average. And they are so big they can really crack down on people that spam or have to much BW. Some people i guess should have a smaller host so that you can talk with them about this kind of things but hostgator thinks of the rest of the people on that server and kicks you out quick to save other customers. I think you should look for a dedicated.

 

if his bandwidth usage is only 10.13Gb then it can't be because of that, unless thats one hour or something...
