There was a time when I thought that if I "reverse engineered" what shoemoney was doing I would be able to replicate his success myself.

I started off looking at his websites, trying to copy his stuff, and all the other things I'm sure thousands of other people have done. Then I realized three things:

    1. I hate ringtones and have no interest in them.
    2. Shoemoney was more successful than me in this field because he had an interest in them.
    3. Shoemoney has spent more time innovating his websites(and successes) than figuring out how to copy someone else.

I believe success will come when you start innovating instead of emulating someone's site(s). Therefore you should quit wasting your time trying to figure out what websites are his or how you could "reverse engineer" his success. Instead you should focus on how you could make your own sites more successful.

    Peace.

If you would bother to read his posts on this forum and his website you'd learn quickly what he does.

The information is there if you'd bother to find it, otherwise your loss.

    Well said.

Also "reverse engineer" doesnt work on most sites. In order to do that site you will need a keyword list used for Adwords. Good luck on getting that.

If you plan on ranking for ringtone keywords to get traffic. Just paypal me the money you would use to try to rank in search engines because it probably wont happen.

Shoemoney is nothing special and is doing nothing that cannot be learned easily for free on the web. He is just using his brain and doing something he loves.
Anyone can make what he makes if they really want to, they like doing it and got patience and a will power. Nothing special at all. That is where alot of beginners get caught up and shouldn't.

    To add.

Beginners also get caught up on not spending the appropriate time needed for a site to make decent money. If you actually spend 5 or so hours a day on "ONE" site there is no reason that site cant be great.

But the main downfall of most sites is people dont invest the time and just expect to magically make money.

Good post. It's about effort (not just blind work effort, but intellectual effort and imagination), not just the technical details.

If you want to know what most any successful person does, I can tell you in one sentence: They work hard.

I copied someones business a few years ago, then I made it better, but I did so because it was my first business(copying was the first thing to come to mind) and I enjoyed the niche(game servers). After 11 months I ended up making more money almost every other game server provider not including clanservers.com, artofwarcentral.com, and a few other really big guys.

Copying can work, but it's better to be unique.

Copying a "plan" helps. But you cannot just build a duplicate website of someone else's work and expect to get the same result.

It's more than just what's on the site, it's what you do with the site.

In other words he is envious of what the "SHOE" has done and is looking to mirror his ways. Like someone earlier said..get your own ideas and make them fruitful.

There is that picture of his adsense check, but is there really evidence that he is still making that same amount of money?

He used "white hat" techniques and "black hat" techniques. If you listen to his webmaster radio broadcasts, he doesnt say it but quickly becomes quiet or changes the subject when the issue arises.

If your going BH then be careful. Simple as that.

    Precisely.

Hey, we all look up to and admire Shoemoney. Who wouldn't like a $100K+ check every month? But instead of trying to "copy" him, just invest in the grey matter between your ears. Read, learn, implement, test, revise, make money. Simple. And complicated. The difference is how much effort you're prepared to put into it.

I guess all he does is optimize his adsense like the rest of us but has high traffic. High traffic and optimization (and reasonably paying ads) is all that is required to receive large cheques.

YES it is productive.. You've got to learn from the success and failures of others..

I'd like to know exactly how he does it too...

Earn a little from every site will sum up with big bucks in your bank. I believe shoemaker owns hundreds of websites not just his personal blog ;) He just shows you the first step in marketing and the rest is on your own.
