Slow loading ads increase server load?

Discussion in 'Web Hosting' started by cmoz, May 11, 2011.

My website is loading slow because of banner ads and popunders ads

Will it increase the load on my server? I am not sure. I think ads load from ad servers?

Since the ads being pulled from resources that are located outside of your server, there is a possibility of lag in the speed of the website.
And yes, it will have an effect on your server to an extent.

If the ads you're displaying on your website are remotely processed (such as Adsense), it will have little to no impact on your servers resources.

It's not going to use your server resources but it may make your site load slow, which is no good at all..

Correct. It will only affect the resources of the remote server that is serving the ads. Unless you are using a poorly coded script to rotate the ads or something similar.

Absolutely, any kind of task or process running on the server will drive some kind of load.. Depending upon the nature of your site and what software it needs and also what you are displaying all play into effect.

How many ad's are you running? Are they all banner ad's too? Maybe consider text ad's?

Unless you are serving ads locally using OpenX, something similar or some type of ad rotation script, having ads on your website have no affect on local server resources.

Ads such as Google Adsense are processed remotely and the javascript required to call Adsense ads is processed by the visitors browser, therefore they do not affect the local servers resources.

Yes, they can not put load on server unless there is a script involve. If it is, then a poorly written script can surely not only slow a server but can cause down time and create security issues as well.

So, you must be sure about the script and should know what it is doing.

They can slow down your site if the server they are located on is slow.

You should take either the banner ads or pop-ups off and use text ads instead. A slow loading website is frustrating.

some revenue, if its only gain 2-5bucks/month from that popunder but make audience runaway, site that use popunder/popup normally site with low traffic or porn site, good site with quality content with and good traffic rarely use that. I better lose 2-5bucks. revenue will increase along with traffic, more traffic more income, I choose to serve only adsense in my site, people love fast loading site imho. Better work more for promoting site to get traffic and make more good quality content

There are much better ways of generating revenue. Hosts with popup ads were great in the 1990's. Nobody is going to use a host with ads anymore, when there are SO many out there that don't have them. Secondly, if you are entering the free hosting world to make tons of money, you might as well go into some other field. You will be lucky to make enough money to pay for the server and maybe a tad more than that for profit.

well I go thru topics thru my search button (I was looking for some particular phrase) so technically no, I do not realize it, especially not after my LASIC operation because the dates here are in font size #3 or 4 and thus my mind ignores it completely

it is the forum guys business I guess, they can automatically close old threads, but they are not closed and time font is small = non important

tell the guys who operate this place
