How to monetize this travel website ?

    Hello guys,
One of my travel website is now on #3 on Google for the exact name of a country in my langage serp.
It's a small country with not much tourism because it'a bit hard to get there.
The interesting thing is that the trip is therefore a bit expensive.

Adsense brings me a few $ each day but i'm sure i can make more of this. The big travel advertisement brand like Expedia doesnt offer anything for this country.
I'm thinking about giving calls to the travel agencies that are advertising on Adsense and to others that seem popular on this country.

But what can i offer them and for how much ?
    - Ads display ? How do you set up the prices ? (i guess this is not standard price since it's a really targeted traffic)
    - Lead generation ? For instance, i put up a page saying "tell me how long you want to stay and where and we will get back to you with an offer from this trusted travel agency". Then i give those informations to the travel agency who handle them directly. How much can i ask for this and what is the best way to do it ?

What do you guys think ? Any advices or experience on this ?
Do you know any ressource i can read on this subject ?
Any input will be appreciated, thanks !

Why don't you try using affiliate programs like CJ or others that have travel programs you can advertise. Even if it not the exact country other similar will still spark interest and make money.

    Thanks for your answer.
Thats a possibility of course but it's a shame not to use this targetted traffic, don't you think ?

i do hav travel site and i use CJ Affiliate. Hotel booking seems to work great with travel sites.
i usually earn about $7+/day apart from adsense with it. so i think its better than none :D

Hi Since your travel website is about small country and not much tourism, you can take this both as an advantage and as a challenge to earn more. We all know that unsaturated market is better than saturated market. Every Government in every country has state tourism department and they want to flourish their tourism sector because this is the great source of revenue earning for any county. Even small hotels, tourist agencies also try to make it large.

Now if you have enough confident with your website, why don't u write an email to the Government Tourism Department and various Hotels and other Tourism Agencies of that country to sponsor your site and put ads on your site to flourish their tourism sector.

Though this is my personal suggestion and you may reject it, but giving a try is definitely worth. Who knows that you may be you hit your target.

Are the hotels of your country on this site?
    http://www.agoda.com/partners/index.html
They have quite a nice affiliate program

You can also sell travel guides (Amazon affiliate)

Are there any bigger countries nearby? You can start adding info about "Also visit This and That country" - you'll increase your page views and maybe strike a better paying sector.
Many tourists tend to visit more than one country. So, if they come to yours they might as well hop abroad and check the neighbouring country.

By the way, I'm really intrigued. What is your country? :)

Try reading the OP next time? yes?

I think that offering leads will pay you well. You tell the travel agency that you can help get tourists for a particular fee.
