How to maximise ebay store with own website?

Hi
I see some people join ebay store and load all their products/items and also have their own website.
Should the website
1) also duplicate with ecom store (i.e. same products as on their ebay store) ? OR
2) have just complementary related info/content (but no ecom store) and point users/visitors to their ebay store ?
Is ebay store less search engine friendly compared to own website?

ebay store = more fees that is a big draw to having your own website. Plus websites can be optimized for search engines and stuff, aswell as giving you more credibility in the "ooo he has a website" category

 

But I think plus side about ebay store is it has ready traffic and great advertising whereas your own website takes some time to get traffic
There are pluses and minuses of both so just am considering how best to use both together.

 

agreed completely, I just mean if you are worried about SEO on your ebay store it is better to just SEO your online store, since that traffic isnt coming through ebay anyways
