    lying is not good in my opinion, but lying for the sake of truth I think it is fine. for example helping people who are not guilty of the accusations or slander.

    Jim Carey in the movie "Lier Lier" illustrates the problems with telling the truth all the time.

    Everyone lies. Some lie when they believe that what they are saying is the truth.

    If you are a witness you are sworn in to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

    My simple rule is never tell a lie if the truth will serve. If you do tell a lie be sure to remember what it was and who you told it to so you won't get tripped up later.
