How much do you make from buying & selling domains?

Just curious how much the serious domain traders make per mth? I mean I see domains being sold for less than $10-$15. So you make a few bucks per domain and after deducting your unsold domains stock, you could end up with loss from purely selling domains. How much stock of domains do you keep...hundreds, thousands?
Isn't domain trading business better left to the big boys?

You could pretty easily make $3-5 per domain. I usually make reg. fee to $200 per domain.

 

$3-5 isn't that too little?

 

Well it depends on the name. You can find one domain a month worth $5000 and buy it for $3000 and sell it, or you could register 400 domains and make $3-5 on most, but some will even go to $20-100 profit. Do you want to spend 1 month finding that one domain or just spend one evening doing some drop checks and what not and register a whole bunch. Thats from my experience, sometimes spending a month to find one domain for sale at a good deal works for others. Good luck.

+200 a month... jsut started getting into domains. Hope to increase portfolio soon

 

i think spotting future trends is the way to make money, for instance, any site containing a upcoming celebrity or products name could increase in value alot in a short amount of time.
