    On youtube? I tried responding to a comment with a link to a youtube video but get "Error, try again" all the time.

    Is it not allowed or is this just a glitch?

    I didn't mean posting the link itself, YouTube allows you to respond a video with a video instead of makeing a text comment.

    Ahh right, yeah I am aware about the video response feature, but I definitely don't want to go to the effort of making a video.

    You cannot use links in the comments, but you CAN response with a video response. Which means that
    you can response using one of YOUR OWN videos. This is free advertising and can not only get you more
    views, but more likes as well. Try it with videos in your category. So if you have videos on health, respond
    to them using your own health videos and so on. I hope this helps.

    While linking is not allowed, you can always use the old trick of writing something like: "go to mywebsite dot com." It's not as good as a real link, but it makes it easy for anyone who's interested to find it.
