    Hello,

I looked around and couldn't find a good place to post this. I hope its ok here.

I am currently looking for a forum for my new website.

My cpanel supplys me with SMF and phpBB.

I am looking for a powerful forum that has alot of free themes available on the internet.

Does anyone know of any free vesions of IPB or V-Bulletin?

    Thanks in advance,
    - Nick

SMF and phpBB are both great free forum scripts. Both have many free templates.

I would suggest mybb. Its a good program and easily customised (im currently working on customising a page and not finding it difficult so that says a lot!)

SMF is the closest you'll get to vBulletin and, as you know, it's free.

I believe vBulletin has a lite version still...

phpbb is the best if looking at free forum software.
Its open source and well most add-ons and plugins are available for it.
Whether taking it security wise or other ways
    its the best

    It does support banning users.

Also check out Snitz forums, it's ASP based.

Phpbb is nice and free. But for me the bad thing about it is the security.
