I have been selling some stuff on this forum and I am curious as to how I approach customers with a request to post something positive in my service thread? How do you get customer testimonials?

tons of ways to do it.

quite simply, though: ask them. don't expect their responses to be entirely accurate of how they feel, but it's a way to get started.

email them a week after they bought something. offer to give a coupon if they fill out their experiences, etc.

wait for customers who seem thuroughly satisified, then ask them if they would mind writing you one, most will.

The key to getting customer testimonials is getting customers first... I mean any customer you get you could allways email them and ask them to submit a testomonial on the service.

If your selling stuff on DP your selling to webmasters, who generally realize the value of tetimonials. If they liked your product/service I'd say all you have to do is ask.

You could also post your itrader comments in the thread if you have any.

That's sort of what I did. When I started my ecommerce stores, I used my ebay feedback as testimonials. Now, happy customers email unsolicited testimonials a few times a week. If you go above and beyond what people expect, they will often send you an email about how happy they are. :D

If you're using an automated e-mail to send the products, post a link or politely request their opinion on your services or product.

In case you don't use the same e-mail template to e-mail your customers, you really should. Saves you a lot of time.

Works if the person is polite and thankful and if this is the case, your testimonials will surely be great.
