I would say cPanel as number one, followed by Plesk, Ensim, and H-Sphere
    in this order.

For free or cheap DirectAdmin and for free Webmin and zPanel

Yep thats one downfall for godaddy hosting there control panel , and that if your trying to use sites like PHP-Nuke or PHP-Plat you need to mess around with it to get it to work, well it did in my case when i was installing it for a person.

For domains Godaddy is not as good either if we compare its service with other reputable registrar services, cheaper and with more features that GoDaddy, not to mention its lack of support options and the new "improved" interface.

Now GoDaddy control panel looks cool but navigation is even worst that before.

Back to hosting, any company offering cPanel gives you access to popular one-click installation scripts, but those are also available from companies with custom control panel such as NetFirms, Vodahost, etc.

I think you should purchase hosting from a domain registrator like godaddy etc and one should not purchase domain from a hosting company :)
