    I think the question is pointless, and I appreciate the honesty. There is no need to pretend to care about every living being on the face of the earth just to come off as being politically correct. Children and dogs die every day, and if someone wants to dedicate their lives to saving them, it's all good. At the end of the day it boils down to selfishness in the first place, because most people are after that warm feeling inside that convinces them that they are good people because they dedicated a moment of their time to donate a couple bucks to charity.

    I would save the child and spend the rest of my days feeling sorrow about the loss of the dogs and of course in doing so would be condemned for the death of the dogs.It would be a case of trying to do the right thing at the expense of the receiving public ostracism.One ought to always do what one thinks is right regardless of the consequences.
