    tattoos is a form of art to me, offcourse sometimes people make them with unknown reasons with weird ideas for it, but still it can be great art.

    @Emily
    Thanks for your reply.

    Let me tell you how I feel about it.I have many friends from childhood.They drink and smoke, some even take "Gutka-A chewing tobacco-very bad for lungs". I told them not drink and smoke many times.They didn't listen to me.Still they don't listen to me.But I didn't unfriend them.Because its not fair .Thats their interest,Let them have it.But I dont TRY to make new friends with such habits.Because I dont like it.

    Like that, It is your body.You can have it any number of tattoos.Their is nothing wrong about it.Problem is with me. "I" simply couldn't stop noticing your tattoo that I dont like to see.So it is not your problem.It is my problem.You simply cant say"mind your business"..coz, I cant help it.So if you live always live with your friends and people who can understand you well, It works.They don't judge you.With persons that dont like tattoos things wouldn't be so normal.

    So how other persons react...Let me give you an example. We had a artist named M F Hussain.He was a fantastic artist.Sometimes he draws Nude women pictures.Media tells its ART.All I can see is a nude pic of women.Some people say "You need to have a eye for the art to understand."..But I am normal person and I dont give a s#$@* even if he is the best painter in the world.You have to understand there is nothing wrong with me.

    And I believe in tattoos like "I love my Dad".Then I would simply notice you love your dad so much.I never judge otherwise.So..whatever you do my best regards for you.

    So, what happened to the whole mental disorder thing? Man, you are some hypocrite or just have no conviction in what you say. You can't have it both ways. Just admit you were full of shit in your first post. It is pathetic after you say all people with tattoos have mental disorder and now you say "I believe in tattoos".

    Whats the prob with you.You are not quite understanding.I mean tattoos with purpose.some soldiers in past mark themselves with a number/specific image so that it helps to identify same group people.Its not their wish to have them.It was necessary.But to have tattoos only to show art..I don't like it.Got any problem with that?

    Ok look, man. I'm all for you having your own opinion and being highly distracted by body art you see on people. You're right that it effects people's reactions and judgements toward you! People will often look at someone with tattoos and assume that theyre in a gang or addicted to drugs or a bum or whatever.

    But listen... you're contradicting yourself tooooooo much! I dont understand how you can compare drug and alcohol consumption to getting tattoos. What is the relevance there?

    Also, browntwn has a good point.. what happened to the mental disorder crap??? You went from calling people with tattoos mentally unstable to stating "to each their own," as if it doesn't really matter. My point is that you need to stick to an argument and see it all the way through. OR you have to admit defeat. As far as i see it, you're shit outta points to prove.

    I dont mean to call you names or make you feel bad. But when you're going to state something as heavy as "people who get tattoos have mental issues" than you sure as hell better back that point up to the death.

    I am female and a little older than most of you guys. I don't have any, and have never wanted any. I know many many women that are younger than me that have them and regret getting them.. remember that they look cool when you are young, but you ARE going to get older, and once you get older, you wish you never had gotten them. One of my girl friends is 7 years younger than I am and she got one on her nape, and later had it removed, now it is a green weird looking spot. She also has some kind of strange circle around her belly button, and to me it looks like a butthole, but I would never tell her that because I don't want to hurt her feelings. If I were her , I would not wear a bikini because you can't help but look at it and wonder what she was thinking when she did that. She also did all of this when she was around 20 yrs old.

    My tip: you should have replied bharat's posts with "whatever". ;)

    Maybe because the women you know tattooed themselves just to make themselves look cool. Tattoo has to mean something, because you carry it for your life. You won't regret having it if it means something.

    you might not realize it now, but as you get older, you change. What you used to like, you no longer like. And the deal is, you spend more of your life being older than you do being younger. I thing tattoos take away from a females attractiveness. That is my personal opinion.

    Fail much?

    Let's go back to your previous example and forget about the soldier thingy first.

    Does a girl with an "I love my dad" tattoo have serious mental disorders like the one you said in your first post? Does showing one's affection to someone he/she love most by means of art through tattoo shows that a person is most likely to have serious mental disorders?

    I know a hypocrite when I see one :rolleyes:

    A tattoo like "I love my dad" is 200% not about tattoo.But I see some people interest only in having tattoo/tattoos.That is not normal.Hope you get my point.

    Since you keep trying to defend something, and I have no idea what, I will persist and try to help you explain it.

    1. What you call "art" tattoos are bad
    2. An "I love my dad" tattoo is just fine with you
    3. A soldier marking him self with a group tattoo is okay

    Where does a person who memorializes a lost family member with an artistic image fall? Is that okay or because it is art is it bad?

    I know tattoos are haram in Islam and also are forbidden in Judaism. Is it is religious objection you have? Do you still think that ALL people who have tattoos are mentally ill? Your position seems to be all over the place.

    I hope you understand, nobody cares if you just say, "I don't like tattoos". But that is not what you did. First you tried to say that all persons who have them, that it is a sign of a mental disorder. Then you now seem to disavow that notion and try to make some distinction between words and art. Honestly man, do you even know where you stand on tattoos other than not liking them and desperately trying to find some foothold to justify what you have already said on the issue?

    @crispy critter

    Thanks for sharing your views

    @Emily..

    After I read crispy critter post..Now I can give you a advice.

    Ask as many as possible "Do you like tattoos on your body ?"(set a age MIN 35 Years to any).Sum it up and take a decision.As far as I know this is the best advice one can give.Here please understand I am not manipulating your decision.This is very practical way to understand.

    Because with age our interests change.We cant even explain ourself that change.It happens to everyone.

    Nobody is asking you for advice, just to explain the nonsense you already spewed. Only a fool looks to others to decide what to do to their own body.

    having tattoos depends on your thinking, and influences of the group you are in... but in some culture, tattoos are symbols of their tribe, so they use to have it.

    think think think, if what good benefits you will have when putting up tattoos in your body.

    I have many tattoos and they all mean something to me in a symbolic way and I have plans for more.
    If you're planning on getting your first tattoo make sure you REALLY want it because it will be on you forever.
    A good way will be by choosing an image that means a great deal to you and that you won't regret.
    Plan the idea in your mind months before getting it done - don't make it an impulse thing or you may regret it - the removal surgery will leave you scarred.
