    Microsoft announced the next version of Windows (codenamed Longhorn) as Windows Vista.

    They've also released the official webpage of Windows Vista.

    The first beta is slated for August 3rd, 2005 and will be shipped primarily to developers and IT professionals.

    Also note that some circles may be calling this WinVi, since VI in roman numerals is 6, and this Vista will be the 6th version of windows.

    They have registered the site under this domain: WINDOWSVISTA.US, probably .com was already taken by someone else.

    They should just keep the code name (longhorn) since it has been around for lets see... 3 years now?

    I think that is what everyone is used to by now.

    I checked as well. Microsoft would probably sue me for trademark infrigement if I tried to register one though ;)


    I can't beleive they beat me to microsoftvista.com -- they literarlly registered it like a few hours before I tried.

    Last 2 years windows vista is my bet but when i know the windows 7 ultimate is quite better than any other, I preferred using it.
