Well the 3 obvious answers are:

    1. Ad-supported free releases - you put adsense, yahoo, etc. ads on their press release page.

    2. Charge for upgraded releases with added features - but of course you need to make added features (like guaranteed inclusion in Yahoo! news, Google news, real newswires, direct to a large list of media contacts, etc.) available.

    3. Charge in a bidding stye to determine placement in the press release order.

You could also offer value-added services on the side, like press release writing (rather than just listing partners), editing, etc. if you're qualified to do that. If you're not, charge for listings on your partner pages if you don't already, or at least as a featured or "recommended" partner.

accept quality and well written press releases, good content and regular readers would get you some revenue, and growth will drive it more.
it would take bit effort to approve these releases on regular basis

I'm not sure this is true. There must be some niches that don't make cash, no matter how well optimised your ads are, because the bandwidth costs will always exceed the amount you can extract from your visitors.

I don't think that this applies to press release sites, though. There are some good suggestions here. It's just a case of getting enough visitors and companies to sign up, and testing out the ideas to see which ones work the best.

You're probably going to continue to struggle in that sense until you can prove that your site's posting quality news. Perhaps leave it free in the beginning just to get enough submissions (you can offer upgrade options after you have some distribution outlets), but keep a strong editorial hold on things, so only quality releases get past you and published.

You should also be making sure your own site is in top notch condition to look as professional as possible. I'm glad to see you added the description field and got rid of some of the inaccurate info that was in there. :) But you've still got a few spelling errors and such. Just give it a good read through. For example, you say don't use hype twice, and have the line "Is the newsworthy?". Just be careful. The more professional your site is, the better the chance you'll get bigger companies or groups interested in posting, and the better your own chances will be for getting distribution help. :)

I think getting enough submissions is important for building a useful service. For example, say you're looking for press releases about mortgages. If you just have a category for business, that's a lot of irrelevant stuff to wade through to get to one or two press releases that might be useful. If you have enough releases for a Business > Finance subcategory, that would be better, but still not as useful as Business > Finance > Mortgages. Just like a directory, you will need good categorisation and plenty of entries to be useful to visitors.

Well I agree with what has been said throughout. The market is saturated for almost everything, including PR. The segment is extremely competitive, but if you choose to specialize in a certain way you publish your releases, while building traffic and SEO, you'll be on a good way. Just make sure you like what you're doing, and it'll work out fine :)

The market's saturated with crap. If the poster creates a high quality service focusing more on simply one more free place to throw some backlinks, getting decent distribution partners and users won't be much of a problem.

Not that I know of thank goodness. And if there were, any reputable ones would find a way to stop them from accessing their sites.

There's one software something like Press Equalizer by Jeff & Rod Beckwidth, help to submit to free press release sites.

Not too sure any good with the software though. Their support seems to be almost non existent.
